Vietnam may be one country, but its rich cultural heritage has been shaped by three distinct regions—Northern (Bắc), Central (Trung), and Southern (Nam). Stretching more than 1,600 kilometers (over 1,000 miles) from north to south, Vietnam's geography has influenced its climate, architecture, cuisine, dialects, customs, and traditional clothing.

Although every region has developed its own identity, they are united by a shared history and deep appreciation for family, community, and cultural traditions.

The Ba Miền Việt Nam Collection celebrates this diversity through three collectible dolls, each dressed in attire inspired by one of Vietnam's regions. Together, they tell the story of a nation where regional traditions come together to form one shared heritage.

Vietnam: A Land of Three Regions

For generations, Vietnamese people have commonly described their homeland as Ba Miền—the Three Regions:

• Bắc (North) – The cradle of many of Vietnam's oldest traditions and historic capitals.
• Trung (Central) – Home to imperial heritage, royal architecture, and refined court culture.
• Nam (South) – Known for its fertile river delta, vibrant energy, and warm hospitality.

Each region contributes something unique to Vietnam's identity while preserving customs that have been passed down through generations.

Bắc – Northern Vietnam: Tradition Rooted in History

Northern Vietnam is considered the birthplace of many Vietnamese cultural traditions. Ancient villages, communal houses, pagodas, and historic capitals have preserved customs that continue to shape Vietnamese identity today.

Our Northern doll wears the Áo Tứ Thân, one of Vietnam's most recognizable traditional garments. Originally worn by women in Northern villages, the Áo Tứ Thân consists of four flowing panels tied at the front over layered garments. Its graceful silhouette reflects both practicality and elegance, making it an enduring symbol of Northern Vietnamese culture.

The accompanying khăn mỏ quạ-style headwear reflects attire commonly associated with Northern women, while the colorful sash adds warmth and character.

Trung – Central Vietnam: Elegance of the Imperial Court

Central Vietnam is home to Huế, the former imperial capital of the Nguyễn Dynasty (1802–1945). The city's palaces, royal tombs, gardens, and temples continue to reflect centuries of artistic refinement.

Inspired by this heritage, our Central doll wears a graceful purple áo dài paired with a matching khăn đóng. Purple has long been associated with Huế and has become one of the city's most recognizable colors. While not exclusively reserved for royalty, it evokes the elegance, poetry, and quiet sophistication for which Huế is known.

The floral lotus artwork on the áo dài symbolizes both beauty and resilience, blending Vietnam's national flower with the timeless elegance of Central Vietnam.

Nam – Southern Vietnam: Simplicity, Warmth, and Everyday Beauty

Southern Vietnam is famous for its lush Mekong Delta, winding rivers, floating markets, and welcoming spirit.

For this collection, we chose one of Vietnam's most iconic images—a simple white áo dài paired with the nón lá (Vietnamese conical hat). The white áo dài has become closely associated with youth, hope, and new beginnings, especially through generations of Vietnamese students. Combined with the timeless nón lá, it represents grace, humility, and the enduring beauty of everyday Vietnamese life.

Rather than emphasizing elaborate decoration, this design celebrates the quiet elegance found in simplicity.

Southern Vietnam is known for:
